Delivering jobs for Queensland
- $164 million to commence construction of a $485.1 million South Queensland Correctional Precinct at Gatton
- $110.5 million to improve electricity infrastructure in the region
- $12 million to upgrade rail track between Jondaryan and Gatton
- $3.77 million towards the $10 million refurbishment of the Toowoomba Courthouse
Better and safer roads
- $5.8 million to complete the $9.5 million widening and sealing of the New England Highway, south of Crows Nest
- $5.7 million to improve on the New England Highway at the intersection of Ruthven and Jellicoe Streets in Toowoomba
- $3.5 million to complete the $7.8 million construction of an underpass at St Mary’s Primary School on Palmerin Street in Warwick
Education and early childhood development
- Work on improving our schools including Australian Government funding of $3.1 million towards a $4.1 million trade training centre at Stanthorpe State High School, $3.1 million for a $4.1 million trade training centre at Dalby State High School, $1.4 million for a trade training centre at Harristown State High School, $1.4 million for a trade training centre at Oakey State High School and $1.1 million towards a $1.5 million trade training centre at Lockyer District State High School
- $797,000 to complete a $2.4 million early childhood education centre at Toowoomba North
- As part of the first tranche of the Government's commitment to 240 new or expanded kindergartens by 2014, funding for a new kindergarten at Toowoomba
Improving emergency services
- Funding for a new ambulance station at Stanthorpe, and new fire stations at Toowoomba, Ripley, Pittsworth and Brassall
Protecting our environment and facilities for communities
- Guaranteeing the local water supply through joint funding for the $187 million Wivenhoe Dam-to-Toowoomba pipeline
- $6.6 million towards the development of the National Carriage Factory in Toowoomba
- Almost $600 000 for construction of a multipurpose community auditorium at Highfields State School
