- $21.8 million to continue work on the $446.3 million redevelopment of the Cairns Hospital
- $6.4 million in renovations for the Cairns Hospital Emergency Department to provide additional beds
Delivering jobs for Queensland
- $42.1 million to build better facilities at William McCormack Place
- Funding for the $9.4 million cruise facility at Cairns Port
- $1.2 million for a feasibility study for a new Great Walk from the Daintree River to the tip of Cape York
Better and safer roads
- $11.3 million to complete the new $15 million bridge and approaches on the Endeavour Valley Road at Endeavour River, west of Cooktown
- $9 million towards the $31.5 million upgrade of the Kennedy Developmental Road, south of Mount Garnet
- $6.1 million to upgrade priority level crossings in the region
Investing in education and early childhood
- $15 million for upgrades to local schools over the next three years, including installing solar panels in every school
- $6.2 million to continue work on the $28.8 million redevelopment of the Tropical North Queensland Institute of TAFE at Cairns
- $4 million in joint Queensland-Australian Government funding to construct a combined trade training and school industry trade centre at Woree State High School
- As part of the first tranche of the Government's commitment to 240 new or expanded kindergartens by 2014, funding for a new kindergarten at Redlynch
Improving emergency services
- $6.13 million to complete the $7.4 million replacement police station and watchhouse at Mareeba
- $1.5 million for the new $2 million Tully Ambulance Station
- $200,000 towards the new $2 million replacement ambulance station at Ravenshoe
Protecting our environment and building communities
- Implementing our plan to protect the Great Barrier Reef
