Delivering jobs for Queensland
- $32.4 million for improvements to the Mica Creek Power Station
- Developing Queensland’s largest solar project at Windorah
- $8 million to reinforce the electricity bulk supply point at Roma
Better and safer roads
- $5.3 million to complete the $29.7 million paving and sealing of sections of the Roma-Taroom Road, north-east of Roma
- Completion of bridge work worth $5 million on the Warrego Highway at Angellala Creek
- $4.9 million to upgrade the Box Creek and Holy Joe Creek floodways on the Flinders Highway
- $4.5 million to pave and seal 15 kilometres of the Wills Developmental Road, north of Gregory
- $4.5 million to complete the $14.4 million sealing on Aramac-Torrens Road, south of Torrens Creek
- $4.4 million to complete $8.8 million of works on the Flinders Highway at Jardine Valley, west of Charters Towers
- $2.35 million to pave and seal a section of the Yaraka–Retreat Road, Jundah
- $1.14 million to complete bitumen works on the Thomson Developmental Road between Jundah and Longreach
Education and early childhood development
- Refurbishment of existing facilities at Doomadgee and Mornington Island as part of the $36.1 million Bound for Success pre-prep capital works program
- Work on improving our schools including Australian Government funding of $3.4 million towards a $4.5 million trade training centre at the Senior Campus of Spinifex State College at Mount Isa, $2.1 million towards a $2.8 million trade training centre at Longreach State High School and $1.5 million towards a $2 million trade training centre at Charleville State High School
- $2.7 million towards the outback trade training centre at Longreach High School
- As part of the first tranche of the Government's commitment to 240 new or expanded kindergartens by 2014, funding for a new kindergarten at Mount Isa
Improving emergency services
- Funding for a new ambulance station at Julia Creek
- Work on the replacement Clermont Ambulance station worth $1.6 million
Protecting our environment and building communities
- $120,000 to develop the Outback Tourism industry
- Extra services for older Queenslanders with almost $60,000 in extra funding for the Home Assist Secure program
